Hard disc size is no limitation
The Revox Joy audio server is supplied by default with a 500 GB hard disk allowing it to store more than 600 CDs in WAV quality, 1800 CDs in FLAC quality or more than 6000 CDs in MP3 (128 kbit/s).
If this data volume is not sufficient, any storage size can be integrated into the database of the Revox Joy audio server via the network or locally via USB. The Revox Joy audio server can thus be adapted easily to the individual needs.
On demand, Revox supplies the audio server as well with SSD drives with 128 GB or 256 GB. This makes it free from any drive noises (unless recording CDs).
Of course, the CDs can be ripped from the Revox Joy audio server to an external storage. Thus the audio server fulfills every requirement in terms of storage space.

Data import / export

As soon as you use a USB storage, a pop-up window will help you to select the music and export it to the connected storage.
Moreover, you can easily import music from the connected storage to the hard disk of the audio server. Again a pop-up window will support you with the copy process.

FAQ - Häufig gestellte Fragen
Can I back up my valuable music collection, which is located on the Joy audio server?
The S37 has an integrated backup function. First of all, connect a USB hard drive or a network drive to the Joy audio server. The storage should have an adequate size (we recommend at least a factor of two to the integrated hard disk) and if approvals are required, they should be arranged correspondingly.
Under Menu/Settings you can select the option Backup in the system folder.
How can I increase the storage size of the S37 audio server?
The Joy audio server is designed in a consequent way that memory extensions can be realised easily via external USB or network hard disks. Navigate via Menu, Settings and the folder Music to the option "Add new source". Here you can name the storage and deposit the path that can be inserted as URL or defined interactively with the "Search" function. If required, you can save as well a username and a password for a possible release. If music is already available on the drive under the inserted path, it is included directly in the media library of the S37. Depending on the scope of the archive, this process can require some minutes or more than one hour when it comes to extremely large archives.
The option "Storage place for music" allows you to select the new embedded directory. From now on, all recordings, which are arranged with the S37, are stored on the new drive.
How can I create a playlist on the Joy audio server?
The creation of a playlist requires momentarily the graphical user interface, which makes the control of the Joy audio server extremely comfortable. Mark your favourite titles, albums or interpreters in the different navigation views and insert them via Menu - Playlists into a new or existing playlist. When creating a new list, you will be asked to insert a name.
